There were 85 participants including 11 Bishops from 2 regions. All the dioceses of West Bengal and all expect Guwahati, Itanagar and Tezpur of North- East were represented. The inaugral meeting was chaired by Most. Rev. Gerald Mathias of Lucknow, CCBI Laity Commission Chairman and member of NST. Archbishop Thomas D'Souza welcomed all the participants to Kolkota. He said that SCCs is the only way to be Church today and it calls for full support from Bishops, Clergy and Religious.
The inaugral mass on March 9th evening was celebrated by Bp. Gerald Mathias who welcomed all the participants on behalf of NST and CCBI Laity Commission and explained the rationale of this meeting of resource teams with Bishops from these two regions.
